Movie Theaters May Ask to Jam Cell Phones

Movie Theaters May Ask to Jam Cell Phones
March 15, 2006
LAS VEGAS -- Movie theater owners faced with falling attendance are considering asking federal authorities for permission to jam cell phone reception in an attempt to stop annoying conversations during films, the head of the industry's trade group said on Tuesday.

Industry leaders at the ShoWest conference for theater owners want to find ways to win back crowds.

"I don't know what's going on with consumers that they have to talk on phones in the middle of theaters," John Fithian, president of the National Association of Theater Owners, told the ShoWest conference in Las Vegas.

Theaters are trying a number of ways to silence cell phones, from sweeps by ushers to funny fake movie trailers urging viewers to shut off phones.

Fithian said owners were considering other steps if that does not work.

"We will actually petition the Federal Communications (Commission) to remove the block" on jamming cell phones, he said.

That may be difficult, since federal law and FCC rules prohibit the use of cell phone jammers.

The industry is broadly trying to increase interest in the movies.

Motion Picture Association of America Chief Executive Dan Glickman told ShoWest that the industry is researching why and when people go to the movies and might consider an advertising campaign to encourage people to go out to the movies, just as the milk industry has succeeded with its Got Milk? campaign.

Yippee-Ki-Yay, Motherfucker

Just saw the midnight showing of Live Free Or Die Hard.

That movie kicked ass. Two small gripes. There were a couple of small parts where the audio and video were edited badly. I could catch it easily, others might not. But this was damn sure Die Hard movie no question about it. John McClane was back in action 100%. And so was his daughter. You will know without a doubt Lucy McClane his his daughter.

It was a really good movie. I was throughly happy with it. Got home and took a motrin. Headache. But it was so worth it.

And yes he did say the magic words right as he shot the gun.

Interesting thing. All those movies that show scene or dialog that are not in the movie. Tends to annoy me a lot. They did it for a few things in this movie also. But I still loved it. That is how good this movie was. Loved it.

Was it better then the first or second or third? Who the fuck cares? I won't even answer that.

RISE

Well I watched Fantastic Four Rise Of The Silver Surfer.

I was disappointed by it. It was my own fault and I should have knew better. I spoiled myself big time. I watched the clips and TV spot before hand and that often causes me to be disappointed by the movies.

The plot was fine. I liked the power switching. But my favorite part from the first one was missing in this movie.

Johnny (John, makes him sound more mature) Storm aka THE HUMAN TORCH!

Now he was there. But not exactly. Now what I mean by that is his personality. Early on in the movie was was perfect and I was loving the movie. Then The Silver Surfer got to him. Now Johnny reacted normally. But he lost his confidence and started to feel down on himself. Thus it was a different version of Johnny. It disappointed me.

The character writing however. It was not only spot on but I truly believe they no other comic book movie has had all the characters written in character better.

Damn sure not that horrid excuse of a trilogy (Currently) they call Spider-Man.

Johnny was his same old self, only ramped up majorly compared to what he is in the comics and cartoons.

Sue was done just fine.

Ben was still fine.

Reed was still his correct boring always thinking science flat card board self.

They all seemed to have equal screen time.

Now the bad things that literally took me out of the movie going experience.

Jessica Alba's look. All you have to do it look at her in this movie and you will know exactly what I mean. Her hair was changed her eyes were fake. She just looked like a badly done Barbie doll. Every time I saw her I was just thinking "What the hell"

Laurence Fishburne voicing the Silver Surfer.

That was some of the worse casting I had seen in a long time. It was way too deep. he simply should have not been the cast. Shame on you Tim Story, now I am starting to wonder if Fantastic Four 3 is going to end up being a BET special.

Now what I mean by that is this.

Director Tim Story is black.

Alicia Masters was white in the comics and now she is black. I'm fine with it.

Laurence Fishburne is black as well and was just horrible casting. Surfer should not have had a deep voice.

But then when Surfer was taken off his board. His color changed. Why it changed I really don't know. But it did. And the color changed to a real black smoky color.

That just bothered me and once again took me out of the story. If he should have changed at all he should have changed back to his human self. he just looked so fake when his color changed and he was separated from his board.

Now I will end this review with something I didn't have a problem with.

Galactus. You get to interpret your own way. I didn't find him to be the cloud. I found him to be in the cloud. If you looked in the firey, brimstone, smokey, cloud you could see a shadow of what looked like the classic outline of Galactus.

All in all. I didn't hate the movie, I didn't dislike it. But I expected a lot more.

Best movie of the year so far...

Heroic Gamer Takes A Bullet

Source Kotaku

Seeing how the mainstream press reacts when someone who might have played Counter-Strike pulls a gun on somebody, how would they react when one takes a bullet trying to stop a crime?

This past Sunday twenty-four year old Adam Mapleson rushed to the aid of a female security guard outside a railway station in Essex England, who was being robbed at gunpoint by two mask-wearing thugs, taking a bullet to the chest in the process. Now in stable condition at a local hospital, police are calling the young man a hero.

Combine his passion for black metal music with the gaming favorites (Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike, GTA) found on his MySpace (courtesy of GamePolitics) and you've got a school shooting waiting to happen according to some people I could mention, and here he is trying to save the day.

Of course one could argue that playing computer games might have dulled that little voice in his head that would normally tell him to sit his happy ass down and not rush men with guns while unarmed, but taking a page from anti-gaming press coverage of the past I'll ignore that possibility and simply add, "Go team!"

Forgot

I watched 28 Weeks Later.

I loved it. I wasn't sure walking into it with a run time of about 91 minutes according to Fandago and my local theater. But I really did enjoy it. I think it was better then the first one. I'm looking forward to 28 Months Later also (Yes it really is happening).

Apparently there is some controversy and outrage over a certain image. It's the one below.

Some people are really pissed about it. I in turn think I am going to buy it now just to piss those people off. It's pricey ($125), but I do like it for obvious reasons. I never planned on buying it but it is a really nice sculpt. I don't know if I am going to buy it but as I said, maybe I will in hopes of pissing a lot of whiny people off. More angles of it can be found here.

Now I guess people complain that women are treated as sex or.....I really don't know why people bitch about the way women are handled in comics. There are two things that separate the way women are shown in comics from the way that men are. Boobs and sometimes they wear less clothing. Those are the only differences. Women are not typically shown in a weak manner anymore. They puts them on equal footing with the men in that area. Yes their clothes can get skimpy, but so can the guys. Yes they are shown with perfect bodies and big boobs. And you know what/ The guys are shown with perfect bodies also. I mean Professor X manages to have six pack abs when he has spent the better part of his life in a wheel chair. Women are not treated any different from the guys in comics or most mediums in today's world.

Maybe I have missed the point though on why people complain about the way they are shown in comics. If I have then feel free to tell me and I will tell you exactly how they are shown no different then guys. Equal rights people. You get it in every form not just the ways that work best for you.

This statue has a good chance of being purchased also.

Jane Pulls Out of The Punisher 2

Jane Pulls Out of The Punisher 2

Ain't It Cool News received a note from Thomas Jane which says that the actor has pulled out of Lionsgate's The Punisher 2. Here's a bit from the letter:

What I won't do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don't believe in. I've always loved the Marvel guys, and wish them well. Meanwhile, I'll continue to search for a film that one day might stand with all those films that the fans have asked me to watch.

Click the link above to read Jane's complete note.

This makes me sad. I find The Punisher to be one of Marvel's finest movies. And for Tom Jane to leave the movie.....damn it. That sucks. If the sequel ever does get made I still plan on seeing it even without him in it. But damn it that sucks. Tom Jane was damn good in that movie. Just maybe Lions Gate will get their act together and start this film up and maybe do something to convince him to return. But as it stands Tom Jane will not be in Punisher 2. :(

First off let me say this. Some of you will be annoyed by this and flat out won't agree. I saw the first two. I hate them. Spider-man is my favorite hero and I think they have done a poor job putting him on screen.

Now I will white text my actual review. Just know that I was not even a little happy with the movie. If you want to know the full details read below.

I will say this. If you don't read the comics or know any history about the character you could very well enjoy it just as the same with any book, doesn't have to be a comic.

I just watched it. That movie was very painful to watch. Not only the worse of the three, but it had nothing good about it. Not even action. The acting was a joke, the writing was a joke, the story was a joke. I mean good God that movie was horrible. Eddie Brock? More like Eric Forman with a backbone. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, I figured I would at least get some nice action like in the second one. But not even that. Venom? Where? I saw mean Eric Forman in a black costume. And the dance scene in the place MJ was singing at. Good God. What the hell? And the whole "look at me dance through the street having all the girls look at me.". That movie was flat out horrible. Now I have a really bad taste in my mouth. I think I should go watch a marathon of Elektra, Catwomen, Batman & Robin and Open Water.
Yeah, the movie was really that bad. Maybe even the worse movie I have seen. I never thought I would see something as bad as Open Water but I might have just found it. I want my my 2 1/2 hours back. Hell it took two hours for anything decent to happen. And saying the final battle is decent is really a huge compliment that it doesn't deserve based on the previous two hours of horrible movie. Nothing positive to say about this movie. Not one single damn thing. Horrible movie.

I now know what people mean when they say they feel that their child hood was just molested because it really was that horrible beyond recognition.

Oh my God. How could I forget the horrible ending. The way he beat the symbiote. What a joke.

And thanks to theLPgoonie for the image.

First look: Downey forges a bond with 'Iron Man' role

First look: Downey forges a bond with 'Iron Man' role

By Scott Bowles, USA TODAY

LOS ANGELES — Robert Downey Jr. is hardly the obvious choice to play an iconic crime fighter.

After all, this is the guy who became a poster boy for Hollywood excess, serving a year in prison on drug and alcohol-related charges and checking in and out of rehab like it was the Four Seasons.

But it is exactly that past, says director Jon Favreau (Elf), that makes Downey the only choice to play playboy millionaire and recovering alcoholic Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, the comic-book superhero who hits multiplexes next year.

"We didn't want to just go with a safe choice," Favreau says from the set of the film, due in theaters May 2, 2008. "The best and worst moments of Robert's life have been in the public eye. He had to find an inner balance to overcome obstacles that went far beyond his career. That's Tony Stark. Robert brings a depth that goes beyond a comic-book character who is having trouble in high school, or can't get the girl. Plus, he's simply one of the best actors around."

For his part, Downey is trying to become an iron man. At 42, he lifts
weights five days a week and practices martial arts to get in shape to play the hard-bodied Stark, an arms manufacturer who uses his ultimate weapon, a jet-powered, missile-launching suit of armor, to fight evil.

More important, Downey says, he's been working on his emotional stamina since coming out of rehab in 2002. His supporting roles in Good Night, and Good Luck and Zodiac have earned critical raves.

And anchoring a big-budget summer film such as Iron Man could go a long way toward cementing that return.

"I'm more diligent than I used to be," Downey says. "I want to show Jon he was right to have faith in me. Whatever questions might have arisen about my life weren't issues with him."

Nor with many fans, says Rob Morley of Comics2Film.com.

"Fans need the heart of the comic to be in" the movie, he says. "Tony Stark had a substance abuse problem. He was built up and torn down many times. I think when people heard Robert Downey was going to play the part, there was actually a big relief."

Downey knows a thing or two about comics, and he can get downright geeky when discussing them. He prefers Marvel to D.C. comics. He liked Iron Man, "but mainly through his appearance with Avengers." His favorite early heroes, he says, were the relatively obscure Sgt. Rock and Sgt. Fury.

It wasn't until Downey matured that he came to appreciate the man in the iron suit.

"He struggles with his lifestyle, he struggles with the drinking," Downey says of Stark. "He faces the same issues a lot of people do."

As Fool would say.....

Moving On, Moving On.

Pope revises limbo view, hope for unbaptized babies

I don't expect you to read the article below. Hell I didn't. My comments to it are at the bottom.
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Benedict XVI has reversed centuries of traditional Roman Catholic teaching on limbo, approving a Vatican report released Friday that says there were "serious" grounds to hope that children who die without being baptized can go to heaven.

Theologians said the move was highly significant — both for what it says about Benedict's willingness to buck a long-standing tenet of Catholic belief and for what it means theologically about the Church's views on heaven, hell and original sin — the sin that the faithful believe all children are born with.

Although Catholics have long believed that children who die without being baptized are with original sin and thus excluded from heaven, the Church has no formal doctrine on the matter. Theologians, however, have long taught that such children enjoy an eternal state of perfect natural happiness, a state commonly called limbo, but without being in communion with God.

"If there's no limbo and we're not going to revert to St. Augustine's teaching that unbaptized infants go to hell, we're left with only one option, namely, that everyone is born in the state of grace," said the Rev. Richard McBrien, professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame.

"Baptism does not exist to wipe away the "stain" of original sin, but to initiate one into the Church," he said in an e-mailed response.

Benedict approved the findings of the International Theological Commission, a Vatican advisory panel, which said it was reassessing traditional teaching on limbo in light of "pressing" pastoral needs — primarily the growing number of abortions and infants born to non-believers who die without being baptized.

While the report does not carry the authority of a papal encyclical or even the weight of a formal document from the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, it was approved by the pope on Jan. 19 and was published on the Internet — an indication that it was intended to be widely read by the faithful.

"We can say we have many reasons to hope that there is salvation for these babies," the Rev. Luis Ladaria, a Jesuit who is the commission's secretary-general, told The Associated Press. He stressed that there was no certainty, just hope.

The Commission posted its document Friday on Origins, the documentary service of Catholic News Service, the news agency of the American Bishop's Conference.

The document traces centuries of Church views on the fate of unbaptized infants, paying particular attention to the writings of St. Augustine — the 4th century bishop who is particularly dear to Benedict. Augustine wrote that such infants do go to hell, but they suffer only the "mildest condemnation."

In the document, the commission said such views are now out of date and there were "serious theological and liturgical grounds for hope that unbaptized infants who die will be saved and enjoy the beatific vision."

It stressed, however, that "these are reasons for prayerful hope, rather than grounds for sure knowledge."

No one can know for certain what becomes of unbaptized babies since Scripture is largely silent on the matter, the report said.

It stressed that none of its findings should be taken as diminishing the need for parents to baptize infants.

"Rather ... they provide strong grounds for hope that God will save infants when we have not been able to do for them what we would have wished to do, namely, to baptize them into the faith and life of the church."

Vatican watchers hailed the decision as both a sensitive and significant move by Benedict.

"Parents who are mourning the death of their child are no longer going to be burdened with the added guilt of not having gotten their child baptized," said the Rev. Thomas Reese, a senior fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University.

He said the document also had implications for non-Christians, since it could be seen as suggesting that non-baptized adults could go to heaven if they led a good life.

"I think it shows that Benedict is trying to balance his view of Jesus as being central as the savior of the world ... but at the same time not saying what the Evangelicals say, that anyone who doesn't accept Jesus is going to hell," he said in a phone interview.

The International Theological Commission is a body of Vatican-appointed theologians who advise the pope and the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Benedict headed the Congregation for two decades before becoming pope in 2005.
This is one of the reasons I have never cared for the Catholic faith. Now I am sure other faiths do the same thing, but I don't practice those faiths, I never have. I was raised as a Catholic though.

I just never understood how they could just simply change rules. And maybe that's why I find Catholicism to be full of it. They make there own rules. The bible doesn't add all that extra stuff. For example the day of the Sabbath.

It says you need to keep the Sabbath holy. It doesn't say you have to go to church. Hell, Catholics consider the Sabbath to tale pace in a good sized window. Saturday at 4:00pm to Sunday/Monday at Midnight. Now to me that says "If you can't make it to Sunday Mass then you can go to Saturday instead because the Sabbath is really no Saturday, but if can't make it to the Saturday mass then you can do the Sunday mass instead because the Sabbath is really on a Sunday.

To me it's full of crap. Just one of multiple examples that cause to to find the Catholic religion to be full of crap.

Deuce

Oh how I knew there would be backlash. And backlash there was. I thought it would have been worse though. But I stick by my thoughts.

I suck at proof reading.

While it won't make me look any better, I need to add one thing that I was 100% positive I added before That journal was edited a few times). I don't by any means condone his actions. Murder is wrong pure and simple. Doesn't matter what way you slice it. Murder is wrong. I don't condone his actions at all, but I still feel bad for him because I have been in that position....except for the whole getting ready to shoot up a school thing. Never ever had that go into my mind. Wished a couple times I would be able to beat the shit out of the ass holes just to make it all stop. But to even have the capability to go as far as he did. I would never have that inside me. At least I don't think I would. Scratch that. Anything is possible. Anyone is capable of anything. The setting just has to be right. The mood has to be right. And the right buttons need to be pushed in the right order.

There is a movie called "The Believer". I wasn't a big fan of it. But there was quote from it (I can't find). But it basically said you can't hate something until you understand it.

I am going to use the same principle. You can't possibly start to understand what emotions he has went through until you have experienced the things he has.

And as I said. IT didn't say bullying was a direct reason for him committing the mass murder. It didn't even say it was a reason. It simply said he was bullied, made fun of and teased. Here is one link. Here is another.

Hell, this doesn't just have to do with VT. It deals with any school. That shit shouldn't be tolerated. And it can prevent shootings from happening. I don't know if it's me being desensitised or not. But I have never felt bad for people I don't know. I could here about people dieing in a train crash or a car accident, anything. The only time I ever could feel emotional about a tradegy that took someone I didn't know is if someone close to me is some sort of way knew that person. That I could feel an emotional attachment. But damn it, when it's a school shooting. (Once again, any school shooting, I only felt attachment to VT once I heard he was bullied), I immediately feel sorry for the shooters when I find out they are bullied. Sure you can say..."That doesn't justify murder". And your right it doesn't. So lets look at it from another view. What justifies bullying? The excuse I heard was my allergies. That justifies making someone else's life miserable? Really? Does it? Why does it take blood shed to end something?

Can anyone answer that for me? Just five simple questions. Two from both sides. Two from the cause side and two from the effect side. One for the wrap up question.

Cause
What justifies bullying?
What justifies making someones life miserable?

Effect
What justifies murder?
What justifies ending human life?

What can be done about both?

Don't turn this around. Answer the questions.

New Tallest Building & VT Shooting

I happened to be on the Yahoo news site to see that headline. I decide to lick on it.

It's here by the way.

Basically it says Chicago will have the two tallest building in the nation.

This is what surprised me though.

It would also top New York's 1,776-foot Freedom Tower, under construction at the former World Trade Center site.

Does anyone else see this as a bad idea? I mean, I don't know the logic behind it, but I would imagine it's something like "We want to show the terrorists we are not scared". Personally I thought ground zero was going to stay the way it was as a memorial. But I to hear they are rebuilding to "Freedom Tower" of all things. To me that just sounds like an invitation for someone to get past airport security again to nail the place again.

Speaking on big news events. The VT shooting.

First I do not condone his actions.

Cho's family apologized to all the family's of the victims. I think that might be a first, first time I have ever heard about something like that happening. I am now awaiting the apologies from the victims family's of various school shootings for bullying the killer causing the killer to snap and shoot up the school. It's really a shame that bullying isn't handled in a stronger manor then it is now. Maybe the bullies should spend some time in jail. Does it seem harsh to maybe put an eight year old in Juvy for bullying another eight year old? Yeah it does. But if it prevented that bullied eight year old from going into school the next time and killing his/her classmates it wouldn't seem so harsh at all. So once again. Seem harsh? Maybe, but what if it could prevent a school shooting? I mean, when it happens after graduation it's called harassment correct?

Honestly after I read Cho was bullied (Although I didn't read that was a direct cause) I felt more sorry for him then I did for the victims. Maybe it from being bullied in school and living with praying every damn night in hopes of having a good the following day. A good day by the way being one where I went to school and wasn't picked on.

And is it a good thing or bad thing that Cho might have done more for the Virgina economy then Michigan Governor Jennifer Grandholm has done for the Michigan economy? I mean he created 33 new jobs. Four of them are teaching jobs. Plus all the officers called in and the EMT's. Although I admit I am confused on how he managed to shoot up two areas roughly two miles apart (Providing I heard the correct info), I didn't care to read up on the matter more though. Grandholm on the other hand......well I hear some other states (I am thinking Missouri or Wyoming) are finding a lot of people from Michigan there. Don't worry people, I have no idea how she managed to get reelected as Governor along with Stabenow, but rest assure, Grandholm will not be president of the US ever. She's Canadian.

There. Done with my more serious journal. So think about this as you stop reading the journal. Next time you encounter someone in the real world. Maybe say "Hi". It might take them out of a shitty mood. Maybe ask them how they are doing. Might do the same. But next time you ever are about to make fun of someone, doesn't matter who. Ask yourself this one question. If not throwing out the insult prevented a shooting or a world wide tragedy, would it be worth it? We shouldn't be learning lessons the hard way. It shouldn't take mass blood shed for people to be nicer to each other. Lets stop the "shouldn't". Lets make it a "won't". It won't take mass blood shed get people to be nicer to one another.

And I am still waiting for the apology's from the family's of the victims for helping the shooter snap.

R.I.P. Seung-Hui Cho. Someone has to show some compassion toward you. And I have no problem being the person to do it.

Berry gets a star on the walk of fame.

YAY![/sarcasm]

Alright, actually, this is bad. This is very bad. This could hurt future X-Men movies greatly. Now she has some statues and a star and you can bet your ass she will make sure Fox know's that she has both items to ensure she gets a bigger role and more money for the next X-Men movie.

But wait. Didn't she say before X-3 was released that she was done with X-Men movies? I bet it was the fact that she did Catwomen (Bombed) and figured X-3 would turn out to be crap and make no money. But it was awesome and made lots of money. So now she said she would come back for another X-Men movie.

Well of course the price has to be right and just like Sony probably would for Tobey Fox would probably up Halley's money.

Well we can always hope Marvel just gets the rights back to all their franchises, last thing we need is another crappy Spider-Man movie. Two crappy Spider-Man movies have been painful enough for a Spider-Man fan like me to watch. What a travest.

Maybe we can at least get another Punisher movie. And keep an eye out for Iron Man. That movie is hugely important to Marvel.

T-U-R-T-L-E Power

Just got back from seeing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Damn good movie. The animation was beautiful and the acting was on par with the animation. Nothing weak about it. The TV spots made it look otherwise though. Some of the jokes were a bit edited from the TV spots but all and all I was happy with the result.

I never read the comic either. I will eventually, but I just never cared to. I grew up with the cartoon. The heroes in the half shell haven't changed a bit.

Mikey is still cranking the jokes.
Leo is still the leader, not so much ass kissing in this time.
Donnie is still the smart techy of the group and in a genius move his job is tech support.
Raph is still the stubborn loner. What teenager can't relate to that?

And here is a secret. But don't tell anyone. He's the Nightwatcher.

Casey Jones. Still that street vigilante and I love him that way.
April hasn't changed either. But now Casey and April are living with each other while dating.

So lets get to the plot shall we?

Every 300 years the stars aline and unleash and army of (13) monsters. So after Max Winters screwed up he becomes immortal and the plot of the movie becomes "Get the monsters back in the portal to all the curses brought on by the portal will be broken. But in the process the four brothers need to unite again.

The best part of the movie comes toward the end though. (87 minute long movie). We really get to see Raph and Leo duke it out. And I don't mean a couple punches. We really get to see them duke it out. First punches and kicks. Then swords and si's. Beautiful fight and beautiful animation and the rain only made it look more dramatic. And there was even a winner of the fight. So we finally get to see Leo use his swords.

Not so much with Mikey and the nun chucks though. Yeah, I know, but head butts in the UK equal an automatic R. Some may find that silly, but I am sure Europe finds it silly that America will allow plenty of violence and no sex.

Animation was beautiful, sometimes it looked real.
Acting was just fine for the movie except for a couple spots but nothing major.
Plot is old and cliche but it's a CGI movie. It's fine for it.
Time was a not even an hour and a half. I could have dealt with more drawn out story, but it was still good. Only time I was wanting the movie to tend was at the end when it got slow.

So in conclusion. I give this movie two thumbs up, lets say 7/10. I really enjoyed it. Not as much as 300, but I did enjoy it.

TURTLES! TONIGHT WE DINE AT PIZZA HUT!

What ever happened to movies?

I remember back in the day people used to watch movies for entertainment? What ever happened to those days?

Now the only thing I ever hear is "remakes suck and so do sequels".

They wouldn't if you would open up your mind and try watching a movie for what it is meant to be. Just simply entertainment. So what if a sequel isn't as good as the original. Lets look at it this way.

A movie gets rated 8/10. Then lets say the second movie gets a 6/10. Since when does a 6/10 equal a bad movie? I never understood that. You should be going into the movie to be entertained not be be moved to make a new life choice.

Then again, maybe it's just the Internet. I know the Internet is full of retarded douche bags but I wonder how much is simply because it is the Internet.

The Internet is just this giant ball of negativity. All I ever hear is "this sucks" and "that sucks" and then they start talking in this retarded language called "leet". Yeah, it makes them look dumber then a two year old special-ed child.. And that is pretty dumb.

So this was kind of a mixed rant. Oh well.

Try going to see a movie with an open mind next time you see one, try watching it for entertainment. And then when you leave and get online to tell everyone how much it sucked, if you ask nicely I will help pull the trigger to help clean out the gene pool. Yes, I do have some evil in me. It wasn't always like that. It's thanks to working in retail. But that is a whole other story.

Top Four Of All Time

So, I think most know I loved 300 alot. I even said it is my favorite comic book movie of all time. So that got me thinking what my favorite movies of all time are.

So here they are.

#1 The Land Before Time. (Along with the whole franchise)

This is my top film and top animated film.

It's the first movie I remember seeing when I was little. Every time we went to rent movies this was the same one I choose each time. I loved it still do. Hell one day my Mom came back and I was wondering why the case was in plastic wrap. It's because that was the first movie we ever bought. So not only does it have sentimental value to me but I love it. It's the one movie franchise that has never gone the way of controversy. It simply teaches good moral. If I ever had kids Land Before Time will help raise them. I love it and all the sequels. And this movie eve came out before all the computer animation.

#2 George A. Romero's 1968 Black and White Night Of The Living Dead. (Along with the whole franchise)

Second best film. Best scary movie.

I saw this for the first time a few years ago. I stayed up Halloween night watching scary movie on HBO or Cinemax, some movie channel. This popped on. First though. Black and white? This is going to be a laugh if not put me to sleep. Oh how wrong I was. Not only was it not funny, not only did it not bore me. It scared me. That’s right it scared me. probably still would. And it’s black and white to top it off. I know first hand being born in 84, my generation got spoiled with color and most of us like it and get turned off when it’s not in color. But this was amazing.

I think my generations closest and maybe the closest the world will se in a long time when it comes to quality scary/horror/suspense movie franchises is going to be the Saw franchise. But Romero’s created the Zombie genre.

#3 300.
Best comic book movie of all time and third best movie.

Reason? Simple. I read the comic and it was alright but I wasn’t big on it. I watched the trailer and was amazed. I went into it really hyped but sure I was going to leave disappointed. I loved it the more I thought about it. The second time I saw it I loved it more. It was a beautiful movie that deserves an Oscar for best picture among other things. it won’t get it thanks to a prejudice academy. But what makes this movie even better is the fact that not only is it based on true events. But it’s based on events that we all owe a debt of gratitude toward. Without King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans (Among other help they had) things would look far different. Click here for some thoughts on that part. Or try this link. This one was done by the History Channel.

#4 Ghostbusters (Both can work)

Fourth best movie. Best comedy.

I decided I needed a comedy on the list. I liked two alot, but the ghost granny stealing the baby...hell the baby constantly getting screwed around with scared me as a kid and still does a tad from when I was a kid. But lost of people rank Ghostbusters as the funniest movie of all time and for good reason. When you’re a kid it’s a damn good movie. When you get older you understand alot more of the jokes. Bill Murray kicks ass in it also. Just my kind of character. Sarcastic and a smart ass. Hell all the characters had a bit of that in them.

So their you have it. My top four movies of all time.

And for some respectable movies that are damn good but not on the list.

Lets throw in, in no particular order.

Top Gun, Saw 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Independence Day.

300 Review

Words really can't describe this movie.

Wait, yes they can.

Amazing.

That's one word actually.

Lets' throw in great. That makes two and my statement true.

This was trully an amazing movie. The only thing I am dispointed with is that the movie won't be nominated for an academy award. It deserves to win best picture.

I won't go into spoiler details, but it reall is an amazing movie.

Acting was great.
Story was great.
FX were great.
Directing was great.
Action was great.

I honestly can't find a flaw in the movie now that I think about it more.

And their is something for everyone. Women get to see 1/2 naked men with six packs. Men get to see top notch action and over the top gore.

But don't let the over the top part scare you away. It works for the movie. These Spartans are fighting with swords and spears, so it feels very acceptable seeing persians getting spears shoved through their body and seeing limbs falling off.

Their is some sexual content and nudity. Which I enjoyed. There are plenty of movie with much more sex and nudity. And make no mistake about it. The sex scene that had nudity was a real love scene. It was between the King and Queen. Not two people that met a few days ago and are already in love thanks to a movie plot.

This movie was amazing.

Go see it.

For some 300 news.

300 Makes 27.7 Million Opening Day!
Source: ShowBIZ Data
March 10, 2007

In what could turn out to be one of the most astounding box office stories of the year so far, ShowBIZ Data is reporting that Zack Snyder's adaptation of Frank Miller's Greek war epic 300 has earned an estimated $27.7 million on its opening Friday, including midnight previews and IMAX receipts.

This could be a watershed opening for Snyder and Warner Bros., who took a big chance on the stylized film based on Miller's graphic novel after the failure of Oliver Stone's Alexander at the box office in 2004, but it's a good sign that Snyder's next proposed project, an adaptation of Alan Moore's Watchmen, will be fast-tracked come Monday morning.

Although 300 had a bigger opening day than last year's Ice Age: The Meltdown, which currently holds the March weekend opening record with $68.03 million, the guy-friendly movie is also likely to be more frontloaded to Friday, which means it might be a close one if it's going to break that record for the weekend.

300... and 70 Million Dollars!
Source: Box Office Mojo
March 11, 2007

ComingSoon.net has posted the weekend box office estimates and Warner Bros. Pictures' 300 set a new March record!

Director Zack Snyder's adaptation of Frank Miller's epic graphic novel 300 set a new March record with an estimated opening of $70 million from 3,103 locations. Starring Gerard Butler as King Leonidas who leads the Spartans against the massive Persian army, the movie surpassed previous March record holder Ice Age: The Meltdown, which collected $68 million its first weekend last year. Budgeted in the mid-$60 million range, the Warner Bros. release also marks the third-highest debut ever for an R-rated movie, trailing just The Matrix Reloaded ($91.8 million) and The Passion of The Christ ($83.8 million). It is now also the top opening of 2007 so far, beating Ghost Rider's $45.4 million from February.

R.I.P. Steve Rogers?

Yeah, I don’t buy it. I think it’s a Marvelous publicity stunt. But I don’t buy it for one second. I think Cap is the new Ronin.

Allow me to elaborate my opinion on both sides of the story.

Side A.

Steve Rogers is not dead.

Front lines shows him alive and well On the Raft which is a Maximum Security Prison located at Rykers.

In Civil War The Initiative Spider-Woman mentions that Cap is dead. Ms. Marvel claims other wise.

Now their is either a giant continuity error here or Steve is really dead. Which leads me to......

Side B

Steve Rogers is dead.

Or perhaps Ms. Marvel is talking about the new Cap. No doubt if Steve Rogers is dead that there will be a new Captain America.

Who would be the new Cap though? With Iron Man/Tony Stark looking for a new Cap that would be pro reg would there be anymore?

I hope there would.

Frank Castle was shown having a man crush on Cap before. And at the end of Civil War Frank even picked up Cap’s mask. Marvel has already stated that the topic will be addressed more in punisher War Journal.

So how many Captain America’s will there be? And will the Marvel Universe civilians accept both?

If not who will they accept?

Probably not Frank “The Punisher” Castle, but I will be rooting for Frank, unless perhaps they choose a hot female for the role. But I doubt they will. And U.S. Agent is on Canada’s Omega Flight now.

So if Captain Steven Rogers/Captain America is truly dead )At least for a little while. Then Rest In Peace Cap.

I say he will be the new Ronin though.

“But Cap would never say “Yo, Cage”

Yeah, what’s your point? They gave Echo a man suit so people would automatically think Ronin was a girl.

And the apparent Death Of Captain America has Ebay in a frenzy.

If you go to Ebay and search “Captain America #25” you might crap your pants. For buying one copy of each cover at the comic shop it might cost you $8. Selling it on Ebay could sell for $100.

This is Marvel's Offical Pulse News on the death of Captain America.

And I now leave you with the cover to Captain America Fallen Son Feautring my favorite Super Hero.......

The Amazing Spider-man
